I was driving to Houston with a friend and I remarked to her "look at the beauty in that field, so soft and gentle with the pink, lavender and sage. I have never minded driving trips as there is all this nature to enjoy." Some minutes later she responds, "You know I really didn't see the colors you were talking about." A bit further on I point out another field to her and ask if she sees it now and she replies, "I see beige and green!."
I feel I am blessed to see or perhaps imagine these landscapes. I am compelled to express what I see, to put it on canvas so others can see it as special as I see it. It has taken many years to acquire the knowledge, to develop the techniques to do this and even though I am a long way from yet being able to paint it as beautifully as I see it, I will always feel the need to try.
"There is beauty to be found in the changing of the earth's seasons, and an inner grace in honoring the cycles of life."
